NTT Communications Billing System: Scaling With VMware Tanzu Greenplum [1168]

NTT Communications Billing System is a web service for retrieving historical billing information for various NTT services. In 2023, NTT Communications faced an unexpected surge in access due to government regulation changes. Their existing infrastructure needed to scale quickly. With the help of VMware Tanzu Greenplum, they were able to not only maintain their existing apps and leverage their Postgres knowledge, but also achieve over 100x faster processing and overcome scaling challenges while rapidly expanding their infrastructure. NTT Communications is also exploring VMware Tanzu Observability for faster analysis and VMware Tanzu Spring Runtime for a more stable development environment. Honda Motor: Bridging The Gap Between Factory And IT [1330]

Manufacturing industries often face the challenge of quickly applying IT technology while leveraging their domain-specific knowledge. To overcome this challenge the Honda Motor Body Production Engineering Division engaged with VMware Tanzu Labs. As a result they were able to create a minimum viable product in just six weeks. Additionally, VMware Tanzu Platform (formerly VMware Tanzu Application Platform) enabled a production-ready CI/CD pipeline within two days, which was able to handle over 500 updates during this period. Finally, with the power of containerization, Honda Motor was able to develop in the cloud and release to their on-premises factory environment. In this session, we will explore Honda Motor's digital transformation journey, including overcoming challenges and what their plans are for the future.
