GenAI for Tanzu Platform now in public beta
What started as a Hack-a-thon project at last year’s VMware Explore has grown into a public beta release of GenAI for Tanzu Platform that launched in June! We’re excited to bring even more features and updates to the latest public beta release, including more enhancements for developers to build applications faster and more efficiently in Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry.
Building on the momentum of GenAI capabilities in Tanzu Platform, we are excited to announce new capabilities to help current and future Tanzu Platform customers deliver enterprise-ready GenAI-powered applications. VMware Tanzu AI Solutions is a groundbreaking set of capabilities available in Tanzu Platform that supports organizations to accelerate and scale intelligent app delivery with safety.
The latest features now available in the public beta include:
- Support on VMware vSphere, Google Cloud Platform, AWS, and Azure
- Secure and private access to an Open-AI compatible API via Tanzu AI Server
- Broker to models running on VMware Private AI Foundation and third party model providers
- Deployment of private large language models (LLMs) via BOSH in your Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry deployment
- Support for open-source model inference via vLLM and Ollama Support for pulling from private or restricted Hugging Face repos
- Inference support for Nvidia GPUs (vGPU and Pass-through mode) and Intel Xeon CPUs (performance may vary based on model size and CPU generation)

Multi-foundation visibility now available in Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry
Tanzu Platform 10 provides end-to-end observability, allowing platform teams to monitor the entire application lifecycle. From initial code commits to production deployment, you’ll have comprehensive insights into performance, errors, and resource utilization.
In this latest release, Tanzu Platform now supports multi-foundation views and increased visibility into Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry, allowing platform engineers to have a single, consolidated view across systems and components. Teams can see their foundations in one place, making it easier to troubleshoot the health of their apps across Cloud Foundry foundations, including more capabilities that embed health checks into Tanzu Platform.

Security transparency
In today’s threat landscape, security is paramount. Tanzu Platform 10 emphasizes security transparency, enabling security measures to be clearly visible and understandable. This feature makes it easier for teams to detect vulnerabilities and enforce compliance, all while maintaining the integrity of your applications.
Now in Tanzu Platform 10, customers have the ability to analyze their applications’ software bill-of-materials (SBOM) to identify out of date libraries and provide developers with a quick view into what actions they need to take to update their application code. This also allows platform engineers to keep their libraries up to date and enable continuous platform upgrades to mitigate security risks.
Faster deployment cycles with improved developer capabilities
Empowering developers is at the heart of what we do. Tanzu Platform 10 introduces enhanced developer capabilities, offering robust tools and integrations that streamline the development process.
In Tanzu Platform 10, canary and rolling deployment will help customers improve the deployment experience, productivity and speed-up the deployment cycle. Canaries allow testing a new build against a small amount of traffic while preserving the old build for the majority of traffic.
Customers can also experience application auto-scaling improvements with a CF CLI re-architecture. Application autoscaling can be applied across even more apps to increase startup times and improve the overall resiliency of applications.

Customers can expect smoother upgrades, easier tracking of the certificate rotation process, and numerous platform enhancements designed to improve usability and performance.
