He says it is not only the cluster you manage that you need to worry about but all the platforms behind the cluster, including config maps, secrets, CRDs, databases, and other applications that you still have to consider when you are doing a backup. Solera has applications in multiple languages that are stateless and have dependencies that are hard to manage individually so they needed a backup solution that works and does not depend on spinning up new clusters that must take all the dependencies into account.
