Deploying a Spring Application on K8s has become increasingly straightforward with new features in Spring Boot, such as OCI image building and micrometer metric exporting. In this talk, Ollie will demonstrate a number of tools and techniques that make deploying apps to Kubernetes as painless as possible. This will include generating manifests, setting up a local development workflow and exposing health endpoints.
Ollie is a software engineer on the Spring Commercial team at VMware Tanzu. He is currently working on the Spring Cloud Gateway for Kubernetes project which is now has a beta release available. He has spoken at a number of conferences about Java and Kubernetes and his spare time enjoys cycling.
Tiffany is a senior developer advocate at VMware and is focused on Kubernetes. She previously worked as a software developer and developer advocate (nerd whisperer) for containers at Amazon. She also formerly worked at Docker and Intel. Prior to that, she graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in electrical engineering. In her free time she likes to spend time with her fiancé, family, and friends, as well as dabble in photography. You can find her on Twitter @tiffanyfayj.
Josh (@starbuxman) became the first Spring Developer Advocate in 2010 and hasn’t looked back! He contributes (bugs, mostly..) to numerous open source projects, including Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
