Come learn about Cluster API, a Kubernetes sub-project that allows you to declaratively specify and manage Kubernetes clusters across many target infrastructure environments. You might be thinking, why do we need yet another way to provision clusters - isn’t this a solved problem? In this episode, we’ll see what makes Cluster API different from other provisioning approaches and why it may be an excellent solution for you.
Richard is a Principal Engineer at SUSE where he works on cluster provisioning in Rancher and upstream open source projects. He’s currently one of the maintainers of the Cluster API providers for AWS & GCP and also helped create the Microvm & RKE2 Cluster API providers. He’s been building Kubernetes platforms and solutions since 2016 and is a massive fan of Lego and retro games.
Whitney is a full stack developer who enjoys understanding and using tools in the cloud native landscape. Creative and driven, Whitney recently pivoted from an art-related career to one in tech. She is active in the open source community, especially around CNCF projects focused on developer productivity. You can catch her lightboard streaming show ϟ Enlightning on Tanzu.TV. And not only does she rock at tech - she literally has toured playing in the band Mutual Benefit on keyboards and vocals.
