Modernization in the Age of Covid - Forrester study shines a light on modernization to recover from the pandemic
The Covid-19 pandemic has changed how every person, every business, every industry operates. Organizations that can’t respond quickly to new market dynamics are destined to fail; and those that can - thrive. The Covid crisis validates those organizations that established app modernization initiatives and forces those who were on the fence to jump-start theirs.
In late 2019, VMware commissioned Forrester Consulting to conduct a study of senior IT leaders’ modernization efforts. Those results indicated that modernization was a high priority to help organizations meet goals related to revenue and customer experience. As the dust settled from the global response to Covid-19, Forrester recontacted the same executives to learn if and how the crisis has impacted their modernization efforts. The results of the study showed that while app modernization continues to be a priority, how initiatives are funded, and the reasons for doing them have changed.
