Tanzu Developer Portal is an internal developer portal, built on Backstage, that simplifies how enterprise software organizations coordinate, collaborate, and execute across multiple teams and business units. Tanzu Developer Portal has been the developer interface for VMware Tanzu Application Platform since its first release. It is even more powerful now, with the new additions of a portal configurator tool (currently in beta) and support for plugin integration (also in beta).
With Tanzu Developer Portal, there is now a common destination for developers to discover assets such as project templates, common dataset APIs, or standard supply chains, while also being able to monitor in-progress tasks like continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), automated testing, and production operations.

Tanzu Developer Portal provides enterprise support and upgrades for your Backstage portal. Leveraging the extensive contributions of VMware to Backstage, Tanzu Developer Portal is closely aligned with recent upstream versions of Backstage and supports core Backstage features, such as Software Catalog, TechDocs and API documentation, and the extensive plug-in ecosystem.
Tanzu Developer Portal is part of the powerful Tanzu Application Platform, which helps teams build golden paths to production and enables simplified installation and management of VMware Tanzu and Backstage plug-ins with enterprise-grade support and functionality. Tanzu Application Platform offers extensive support for enterprise needs, including endpoint security, role-based access control, and technical support. Customers can install or upgrade the portal with a simple one-line command.
