Pivotal Recognized as 2016 Google Cloud Technology Partner of The Year

At the Google Cloud Partner Summit last week, Pivotal® was named Google Cloud Technology Partner of the Year. The San Francisco event brought together Google Cloud partners spanning G Suite, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Google Maps, Devices, and Education.

The Google Cloud Technology Partner of the Year Award highlights our joint engineering achievements in co-developing deep integrations between GCP and Pivotal Cloud Foundry.

2016 was an exciting year for Pivotal, and this award is further validation of Pivotal’s collaborative approach with companies like Google to deliver transformative outcomes to many of the world’s largest enterprises.

In October 2016, Pivotal and Google announced the availability of Pivotal Cloud Foundry® on GCP. The offering enables customers like The Home Depot to accelerate their transformation into a technology company, capable of moving at startup speeds and using software to get closer to their customers.

Pivotal Cloud Foundry on GCP, is a powerful combination that empowers developers to reliably push new features into production in minutes, multiple times a day, and across the world. Pivotal Cloud Foundry also allows developers to easily add Google’s data services, such as Cloud SQL and Google BigQuery, to their apps, as well as easily discover and consume services such as end-to-end monitoring with Google Stack Driver.

At Google Cloud Next 2017, we jointly announced that Pivotal is progressing through Google’s Customer Reliability Engineering (CRE) review to bring Pivotal Cloud Foundry into the CRE program. The CRE program is an outward-facing service based on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and designed to bring Google-class operational excellence to customer applications running on GCP.

Also at Google Cloud Next 2017, Pivotal launched Kubo, an open-source project bringing the magic of BOSH to Kubernetes. Kubo delivers a highly-available, BOSH-managed Kubernetes environment that simplifies many “Day 2” operations for Kubernetes users. Deeper integration between Kubo and Cloud Foundry is planned, including the ability to provision dedicated Kubernetes clusters through a service broker. Developers will simply type "cf create-service kubernetes" in the Cloud Foundry CLI and get a dedicated cluster.
